I was able to get 1000.4 for $0 if I signed up for monthly maintenance program which I thought I had but was somehow removed. Great deal and signal strength on 61.5 around 45 72 around 48 and 77 around 40. Picture quality with mp4 on sd channels seems better by now I have nothing to compare it with. I will told that since I was a "valued" customer---I have been with Dish since 1998---they would waive the $15 upgrade fee.

You can drop it after a few months @ no charge. Too many customers were abusing the service plan by adding it then removing it by the next bill. This just slows down the process.

It was the CSR who did this for me the last time my 622 needed to be replaced. That was before the new $25 cancel fee. Wasn't my idea!

I also got my upgrade for $0

The CSR I was working with gave me everything for free. He even told me to just keep the service plan for a month or so then cancel it. He even said to give his ID# and they would wave the $25.00 cancel fee. My new dish gets installed on Friday afternoon. I'm looking forward to getting back to 1 dish. I have currently 110,119, wing dish 61.5 for locals. I hope I get a good install guy that will take the time to get it set-up the way,the first time.

It will be interesting to see if they will waive the $25 cancellation fee. After all these years they figured out that people would add the plan then get rid of it quickly to save $$ since there was no downgrade fee on this.

I was told that there was no cancelation fee also

In fact I signed up the day the upgrade was ordered. The fee was canceled before and there was never a cancelation fee so I suspect that all the posts about no cancelation fee is correct. The fact is that the new Dish is great and I am now positioned on the eastern arc for any new programming that comes down the pike and after 77 is straightened out even better signal strength.

JC near Boston hence the Pike reference :)
