Hi All. I have a question about teh 622 or 722 DVR. I currently have a 625 reciever with an HD tv hooked up to TV1 and and an SD tv on TV2. I also have the family plan for 19.99. The problem is that an SD signal on my HDTV looks blah.

I saw the plan for the Bronze HD package for 24.95. If I upgrade to the 622 and HD only can I keep the same setup? HD on 1 and SD on 2 and have everything work right?

The dish rep told me that if I only have HD channels that I would not be able to watch anything on the 2nd SDTV. However, the 622 spec sheet reads:

TV2 Viewing Location: "Connect to an SDTV to view SD and down-converted HD programming"

So what is the deal? Am I reading the brochure incorrectly or is the rep ill-informed? Thanks for your assistance.

Eric

You would have HD channels and maybe some sd channels as well. Everything except OTA will be viewable on tv2 only down rezzed to sd. OTA could be viewed on tv2 as long as you set recording on tv1 and dvr'ed it on tv2. CSR is wrong on this one.

I cant beleive how uninformed some CSRs can be.I have a setup where my 722 (HD DVR receiver)is connected to 2 TVs 1 Tv is HD ,TV 2 is SD,I can watch all channels on my SD TV ,the picture is fine on the SD set.Whatever TV 1 is receiving you can absolutely view on TV 2.
Just remember most CSRs are at a call center out of the states and have no real understanding of how the system auctually works.I always try to avoid talking with CSRs about technical stuff. To change programming is fine but beyond that avoid at all costs.

Same here. I have a 722 with Turbo Gold, and have a wireless av transmitter for tv2. The second tv gets the same channels, but just downrezzed. They look crappy, but no worse than I would expect for sd on a crummy off brand tv with more blooming than a rose bush...
