Is KARE-DT not available? I thought the big 4 for a city are availble? you have ABC, CBS, and FOX for Mpls (6347, 48, 50) but no NBC (I assume 6349)?

Current Markets that Have HD LIL avabile but these channels are not avaible to those subs even though they are uplinked

6371 KTVX - ABC SALT LAKE CITY UT - Clear Channel
6367 WXIA - NBC Alanta - GANNETT TELEVISION
6360 WUSA - CBS Wash. DC. - GANNETT TELEVISION
6349 KARE - NBC Minneapolis. Min. - GANNETT TELEVISION
6332 KUSA- NBC Denver - GANNETT TELEVISION
6325 KRQE - CBS Alberq. NM - Unknown

I suspect that Gannett is holding out for more compensation for retransmission of their digital signals.

KARE-Gannett
KUSA-Gannett

see a trend here? :)

I find it amazing for Mpls that ABC is on (KSTP). They are locally owned (Hubbard Broadcasting owns all ABC's licensed in MN) so I figured they'd give Dish more flack than other stations

Gannett stations that might be missing when Dish puts up local digitals:

NBC Stations

* KARE-11 — Minneapolis, Minnesota
* KPNX-12 — Phoenix, Arizona
* KUSA-9 — Denver, Colorado
* KSDK-5 — St. Louis, Missouri
* WBIR-10 — Knoxville, Tennessee
* WCSH-6 — Portland, Maine
* WGRZ-2 — Buffalo, New York
* WKYC-3 — Cleveland, Ohio
* WLBZ-2 — Bangor, Maine
* WTLV-12 — Jacksonville, Florida
* WXIA-11 — Atlanta, Georgia

CBS Stations

* KTHV-11 — Little Rock, Arkansas
* WTSP-10 — Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida
* WUSA-9 — Washington, D.C.
* WMAZ-13 — Macon, Georgia
* WFMY-2 — Greensboro, North Carolina
* WLTX-19 — Columbia, South Carolina

ABC Stations

* KXTV-10 — Sacramento, California
* WJXX-25 — Jacksonville, Florida
* WZZM-13 — Grand Rapids, Michigan

Perhaps some messages to Gannett might be in order.

Anyone in Denver confirm the three others are available? I'll find out tonight but was wondering....and if they are how is the PQ?

That first one above should be WPVI-DT (not KPVI-DT), the Philadelphia ABC station. They are, in order, the ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates for Phila.

Hmmm. I never thought about it before but how did KYW get away with not having a W prefix?
because its attached to a radio station that is grandfathered in with the callsign. From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grandfather_clause

The FCC has required all radio stations licensed in the United States since the 1930s to have four-letter callsigns starting with a W (for stations east of the Mississippi River) or a K (for stations west of the Mississippi River). However, stations with three-letter callsigns and stations west of the Mississippi River starting with a W (plus KDKA, KQV and KYW in Pennsylvania) licensed before the 1930s have been permitted to keep their callsigns.

Since both are owned by the same people, they can get by with KYW-TV
