I dont think this is all, I expected all the channels at 72.7 to become available today for the launch of Eastern Arc service...

We will keep checking. :)

They are alerting people with MPEG2 equpment that the MPEG2 HD channels will soon be converting to MPEG4 and that they need to upgrade now to avoid losing their HD programming.

The 6200 will be for those with MPEG2 HD receivers. Our friend Tony explained it best, but it is where all MPEG2 HD channels will be together before the migration. The customer with old HD receiver will have to call about upgrading their service because their HD channels will be turning off soon. Those with MPEG4 HD receiver are receiving both feeds.

Scott: You are faster at typing :)

Yep, basically you'll be missing the channels now on your MPEG2 equipment. So you call in and ask what's going on? They tell you about upgrading equipment then tell you in the meantime to tune to the 6200's until your equipment upgrade is completed.

Awesome thanks guys for all the advice!! :) I'm wondering if all the uplinked material yesterday is going live like Scott said...probably not through with todays uplinks :)

My thought exactly. I wonder in any Eastern Arc intstalls were atempted this morning, only to find zero SD channels available.

And I don't get the Discover Channels renames, adding ambiguity:confused: (Although the BBC one was good, as it isn't the full BBC.)

The Discovery channel family of channels renames are to conform with the channels listings and ads around the country. Our paper has been using those abbreviations since the channels came on the air!

See ya
Tony
