What's this channel in the Latino package? I thought they were going to switch those MPEG2 HD channels to MPEG4 today.

Currently "off air" and the only program in the Guide later today is a reality show normally found on TV Azteca, which is 825.

I am confused. My HD locals were uplinked at the end of May (Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, and Hazelton, PA). They were never made available and I see that today they were all removed. The only added today says "14976 - WNEP3 [EPG] added to EchoStar7 119W TP 01 Northeast beam (NA)(Scranton, PA)" I realize it's still NA, but they took it off 61.5, and put it on 119 EPG? I am confused. Can anyone explain this to me? (This is a DMA that was scheduled to go HD back in July - like many others.) Are today's changes a step forward for the people in my area or a step back (or a step sideways)?

It is supposed to be an RTN station, but has not been on the air 'due to technical reasons' and calling them confirmed a Late Sept-Early October setup.

So, since WJAR3 is up or close, they must be going live soon!

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!

(Might even 'Move' to Providence to get in on Dish! Not sure yet)

D* just added support of HD local channels in half a dozen markets. At first glance it seems the response from E* is to eliminate the dozen HD locals markets they had uplinked.

Yeah, it really looks like E* will have 100 markets of HD local channels support by year's end.

The WNEP3 is only an EEPG listing for the OTA subchannel. The HD channels were removed for at least a couple of possible reasons. Channel number conservation until they are ready to launch and they may actually launch on different channel numbers.

There is no official Dish Network announcement regarding the conversion of MPEG2-HD channels to MPEG4-HD.

Some members have reported that they have been told by CS reps "September 17".

However, Dish does not want any customers to lose their HD channels because the installer has not yet reached them with a 722 or 211. So, it is certainly possible for the date to be pushed back.

But whatever day it occurs, it will be between midnight ET and 5am ET.
