Interesting Info JohnH...explains why my NM locals are so compressed... sharing with Texas...and Thanks...

There are 13 channels sharing the spotbeam the NM locals are on, they all appear to be NM locals. Transponder 6 on 110. Of course, 13 channels means each channel is getting an average data rate of only 2.5Mbit/s. Thats really pushing it quality wise.

Wow thats a long post :) John where those spot beam moves that I was seeing today? :) It definatly looked like atleast one was unloaded.. but it its spot beam it doesnt make a diffrence.. as there are other locals on that spot beam...

All regular Transponders in the moves today. Transponders moved from had more channels on them. That's all.

As to length of post, computer gets robust when I click on Trivia. Then just copy and paste. :)

Doesn't Las Vegas have its own spot on Dish? If they don't I guess that explains why DirecTV has 12 locals compared to just 8 on Dish.

Directv allso carries certin low powered stations in select markets where dish doesnt.
Low power stations are not required by dbs operators to carry them

For instance there is a low power (soon may be high power if it allready isnt) station in chicago

ME TV

Everyone loves this station, but dish doesnt carry it.. direct does. To me it doesnt make a diffrance as i get it from there dtv signal anyhow but its a popular station. because its lowpowered dish doesnt carry it.
