Somehow this does not surprise me. I have waited for what seems like forever to have my locals in HD. Lots of promises but no action. I finally gave up and made an investment in antennas that will bring in all my local channels, with no reduction in resolution or bitrate.

We will get more HD programming when Charlie is ready. Until then we need to be patient. I have so much good HD programming available that I recently purchased two additional hard drives to store programs I recorded but have not had time to watch.

All I yearn for is SPEED HD which I am sure is far down the road.

Report was the RSRCH and HITN in MPEG4 were not fitting in very well with the MPEG2 versions. May be back to the drawing board because of that.

They are going to be missing 4 transponders on 61.5 due to AMC-14.

Perhaps they decided to maximize use of 61.5 for HD locals, and put all the Eastern Arc CONUS channels on 72.5 ?

That would explain the deletes of the legacy MPEG2 HD channels on TP 21 that were only up-link to 61.5 (E*12) as MPEG4 2 week's ago. But IIRC TP32 E* 3 can't be used in the spot beams. So HD locals doesn't explain all those deletes

BTW wasn't that a lot of channels for one TP (32), even if some of them were SD?

Actually not... you're counting channels and not services. The RSN's point to slates until they have something scheduled, then they point it to one of the HDSKL channels.

All of these deletes are from 61.5 location.
NATIONAL HD additions are NOT from 61.5.....so WHO CARES!!

Actually National HD addition ARE on 61.5 and 129. So fo those with 61.5 is does matter.

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the concept of RSNs that only provide services part of the time.

So they cleaned a bunch of RSN stuff off TP32 of E*3 and the recently up-linked mirrors of the legacy MPEG2 HD off of TP21 on E*12. Then they deleted these TPs. Is that right?
