yes digibur's new tool is awsome and Im proud to be giving him feedback on how we can have this automated in the future. It would like be an automated goaliebob LOL (except no one can automate me LOL HAHA) :D We are working on other things, keep tuned I have a feeling by the time I leave for Iraq the uplink reports will be in good company. Then when I get back in 08, I can do what I really want and love to do and that is helping you all :).. imagin the day where all the uplink reports are automated, all the channels that become avaible to subs become know as it happens in reatime... Engennering uplinks are listed in real time.... That day is coming closer :)

It is my goal in the future to dedicate one of my old laptops to constantly monitor and report changes to the datastream and make it automated so that when Dish makes changes to their channels we see it almost instantly here at SatelliteGuys.

Here we go, more outsourcing of good technology jobs! :)
Eliminate the human aspect.

The report has been tweaked.....several issues have been fixed and a few items to the header have been added. The invalid renames and moves have been fixed, someone accidentally used the wrong counter on the wrong grid.

We don't want to outsource, however Our human (Goaliebob) is leaving us to go break stuff in Iraq. :D

Thanks for the consistent efforts to improve the report and make it easier to read, and more improtantly, easier to UNDERSTAND.

Now you can automate it, just use my easy button:

Sorry, I run a Staples store and couldn't resist. Man I hate that button.

Thanks for the comments. As time goes on the report will be tweaked little by little. Suggestions are welcome....

And I've got my own button:

Not bad!

Might be nice to know 7406 and 7630 are on spotbeams.

I see you have the moved and readded problem also. (9850)

Have fun with the SDT.

2889 channels in the system. :D

There was some activity this morning at 6:25 AM EDT. Some MLB moves not of significance. Some ALT moves which are signiticant. Depending on how the wind blows, these types of moves occur at either 6:20 AM or 6:25 AM EDT every day, except when on All Star break. :)

Thanks! I'm slowly working my way up to the status of "Uplink God" that you and goaliebob are at. ;)

It's on the "to-do" list.

Not really. If you reread it, it actually works, but it could be worked down to one line. The channel moves to another bird then E* replaces it the one that moved. But they can be hand edited to one line in 2 seconds, so it's no big deal.

I've already had a good bit of fun with this challenge. I can't wait to take on the challenge of the SDT!

I agree! Sounds like a good feature for the header of my report.

It did not move though. It was just added to the 118.75 location. There has been some confusion over time when the moved and readded format was read.

Depends on how you look at it. ;) But like I said, that takes two seconds to hand edit.

So does this mean we will soon have a "system table browser" where every channel is listed by number, package(s), sat location, etc. like an automated "dishchannelchart.com" updated in realtime?

There already is one... TSReader.

What I meant was something here on satelliteguys that all users could benefit from, not just those who have the time and equipment available to build a machine to run TSReader.
