I have a ViP722 that I deactivated about 1.5 years ago when I went to DirecTV. I forgot I had this and just recently found it. My question is, can I sell it on ebay and someone will be able to reactivate it?

If not, what can I do with it. Is there anyone out there who has installed Linux on t and is using it as some type of server/ media server?

Any advice would be great.

Did you own it or was it leased? If you owned it, yes you can sell it. If it was leased, Dish either wanted it back, billed you full price for it, or it slipped through unnoticed. Leased receivers belong to Dish and they will want it back.

Take the R00 number from the receiver and call DISH they can tell you if it is leased or owned. It is probably leased they should arrange to ship you a return box.
