hey guys im in Haiti and i had the 3 dishes 119/110 and 77 using a dpp44 switch.
well now i wanted to add the 72.7 sat and remove the 110. my question is should the switch pick up the 72.7 sat? Ived tried all day . i pointed the dish using my Supper Buddy and i get a high signal on 72.7 i even verified that it was 72.7 sat but when i run check switch it does not show up.on
Check switch it shows-
port-1 119/ok/dual
port-2 77ok/dual
port-3 conn/x/dual

any suggestions??

I use 3 dishes

I use 3 dishes 2 on EA and 1 on WA. The dishes are 72.7, 77, & 129. The reason I don't move the third to EA has to do with I'm gonna bounce an LNB of that dish for PBS FTA at 125. If I wasn't doing that I might use 3rd dish for 61.5. You need to put the dishes in the order that Iceberg said it makes a difference on the switch to receiver set up.

are you sure you switched the connections because it shows the same thing (77 on port 2)

unhook the cable from the receiver then rerun check switch. This will clear out everything. Then rehook cable up from switch and rerun check switch

could i be getting signal from the old 72.7 sat? is there a specific transponder i should lock to?

an odd. Dish uses all 16 odds. I know the new sat went up and DIsh will use all 32 TP's but for sake of argument lets use an odd TP which is what they were using on the old sat

ok i checked all odd transponders ad they run into the 70's.
i also redid check switch after clearing it out and i still got the 77 sat on port 2. so i decided to leave port 1 -119 port 2-nothing port 3-72 and port 4-77
after check switch it says:
port-1/119/ok/dual
port-2/x/x/N.C
port-3/77/ok/dual
port-4/conn/x/dual

another thing i noticed was when i first unplugged the sat cable from receiver 1 receiver 2 stopped working also. and im using a dpp44 with power inserter near receiver 2.

Sounds like your new dish is actually pointing at 77 as well. DN receivers will show X on a duplicate orbital.
