Is there anyone in northeast Pa using the 129 satellite instead of the 61.5.? I want to use the Dish 1000 instead of 2 dish 500's. I'm not really worried about losing RSNs in HD since I have them with Directv. But if anyone can give me some advice, that would be great.

What mountains? I'm at 2100 ft though, not 600 feet like Williamsport and for you it would be 20 degrees.
Yeah, I'm at 560 ft, and the Bald Eagle ridge to my south peaks around 1800 ft. I'm fairly tight against the mountain, so it's a wonder that I can even see 119 at 26.5 degrees. Now, if I could get on top of the mountain I bet I could hit 148 at 5.9 degrees. :eureka

So does anyone think its possible. If I try it can I just set my Receiver to the 129 and use my signal meter. Will that tell me how to locate it. And Do I have to ajust the skew even if its got just 1lnb? I have a dish 500

Use the satellite calculator here at SatelliteGuys to find your angles. Then while you are in TheList check to make sure you have your transponder screen set on an active transponder on 129.

Why do you want to use 129? Usually it is the other way around ;)

I want to see if I can use a Dish 1000.2 becase I want to use only one dish ,instead of 2 . I do watch some HD on E* but Not really enough to be to worried if I have early rainfade maybe a dropout from time to time,as long as its not too excessive.

Well I got a signal, but really low numbers less then 20. Thats with a Dish 500. So I'm guessing the Dish 1000.2 won't be much different maybe worse. Well thanks Guys. I guess I have to stick with 2 Dishes.

I doubt you'll get any signal. I'm in Williamsport, PA and I argued with the installer because I didn't want 2 dishes. He then explained why I need the extra one (for 61.5.)

Also, somewhere there is a picture of a map (I wish could find it again) that showed the entire USA, and then had parts shaded, and if your area was shaded, it meant that you could not use a Dish 1000. If I recall, most of PA was shaded that color, and that is why I couldn't get the 129.

Look at my user pic to the left to see what I ended up getting!
