"weird" wavy picture

Ok, I am not really sure how to describe the trouble I have with some channels but I will do my best.

I have a sony bravia 46" 1080p TV. When I am watching some programming (Enterprise on HDNET is one that comes to mind), there is a weird warping/waving that happens to peoples faces. It is as though there is some weird ripple effect going on. I tend to notice it on shows/channels where there are big contrasts in light an dark. But on other stations/shows I don't notice it at all.

Any thoughts or ideas.

TURN down the sharpness and contrast till the waviness goes away. It sounds like you have it adjusted to high.
