I tried to fit more abbreviations in the title, but failed! ;-)

I live in Las Vegas where we have lots of OTA HD (nbc, cbs, abc, pbs, wgn, upn and some spanish language channels).

I hooked up my 811 to an ancient (circa 1968) UHF aerial and get a minimum 85% when I change to an HD local.

BUT!

Last weekend I was switching between OTA HD locals (football and golf) and was shocked at the large difference in PQ between NFL (great) and PGA (lame).

Also, while watching the local news (HD OTA) the main reader in the studio looked fuzzy while an associate in another part of the studio was razor sharp.

Is HD broadcasts so new that not all cameras and equip are HD? Any guesses on the variable PQ?

At least "Lost" looked great!

Cheers,

Phil

All OTA broadcasts are not HD. The football game probably was, but the PGA was probably standard. They are both digital, but not necessarily HD. The local news is also probably standard def.
