VIP 211 Hum

Every once in a while I hear a hum whose source is my 211. It is cured by unplugging. Does anyone know what causes this occasional hum?

I had this and found out it was in one of my LBN coax cables. A piece of the shield was touching the stinger. It was shorting out the power supply. Take out all you coax connections and check inside the connectors. Mine was only a small strand of the shield wrapped around the stinger.
