Vip 211 -> Vip 211 EHD - Compatible with DISH Remote Access???

Hello,

So commonly, companies fail in their literatures and their training concerning products and compatibilities.

All I read, the 211/k in essence becomes a 612 after the EHD upgrade. The 612 is stated as compatible with DISH Remote Access, the 211 (post upgrade) is not.

So, contrary to what the literature and CSRs say, is the 211 w/EHD compatible with DISH Remote Access.....and if not, WHY?????

Is it just a matter of not paying the DVR fee?

If you also have a 722 on the account for example, and paying the DVR fee, does that affect anything??

I'm going to say no.
Because its not a real dvr and I would Imagine because your not paying the $6 dvr Fee
And it isn't the same as a Vip 612
The 612 can record Live TV and OTA while watching Live TV.
The 211 Can only Record Live TV and Watch OTA.

I've read (in more then one place) that the 211 CAN record from both Live TV (satellite) and OTA, even at the same time. Is that incorrect?

It can, But you can't watch Live tv while doing this on a 211. A 612 you can.

211 has 1 Satellite tuner and 1 OTA tuner.
612 has 2 satellite tuners and 1 OTA tuner

What makes the 211 not a DVR?

The fact that it doesn't have a hardrive.
You can't record on it.
You can record content off of a 211 to a recording device, that doesn't really make the receiver a DVR.
I don't need a 211 to record content on a External Harddrive.
