VIP 211K out put True HD

I just found what I think is a problem with the HD output on my VIP 211K hooked to a 1000.2 Dish with plus 60 signal strength accross all Sats. The signal from the reciever to the TV is being transmitted by an HDMI cable. After I bring up the guide and choose an HD program to watch and start watching, I choose info on my TV remote and the info is showing that the signal going to the TV is 480P. What gives? When I hook my TV straight to my OTA amplified antenna all the major affiliates are being recived as 1080i so it not that my TV wont display HD.

Hit menu, then go to system setup. Next go to HDTV setup. Change TV type to 1080i.

Adding to to what Lanonillin is saying. The resolution setting is not automatic, you have to manually set it.

Thanks a lot. I feel a little like a dunce. I did it and the picture is now true 1080i, clear and crisp.
This should be the end of this syory.
