It seems every other week when the show 'Big Brother' on CBS records on our VIP722 DVR, the DVR is unable to record the show entirely and splits it into one minute ('1:00') segments, rather than just recording the whole show....

Its strange that this only happens on this particular show - there is nothing else recording on TV2 and no one watching TV2, but we do have other programs being recorded on TV2 - but we often record two things at one time, yet we only have this issue for this show....

Anyone else have this issue on their VIP722 DVR ?

Are you recording this OTA? Maybe the channel is right on the fringe and you are losing signal?

We do have this problem on our VIP722. We've only had it and HD since 8/26/08- so less than a month and it's happened at least twice. We don't watch big brother.

The first time it occured with this DVR, we did not have any OTA signal hooked up or set up.

I can't remember what the second show was called, but it was about a guy getting out of prison after like 14 years. At the same time, there were 2 other shows lined up to tape. One was listed as going to tape on TV1 and the other 2 for TV2 (one of which was OTA). One show taped, one show didn't tape at all, and this prison show taped one minute chunks for 11 minutes before I stopped it.

Strange thing is, we had this problem alot with our very old SD DVRs. At least every other week. We sent one back when the problem happened too often - hoping a new DVR would fix the problem. It didn't, but putting a UPS between the outlet and DVR (our 3rd replaced DVR) definitely reduced how often the issue happened to like once every other month or less. So I was very surprised to see this issue pop up so quickly with our new HD system.
