ViP211K Record 1 and watch another

I have a ViP211K and 1000.2 dish that I just set up to record to an external drive. When I try to record a show on one channel and watch a different one, it will not allow me to. Is this normal?

This is normal since the 211k only has one tuner.

Sine the 211 only has a single sat uner, you can only record 1 show from a Dish signal. You can watch an ota program. You cannot watch a Dish channel if you are also recording a Dish channel. That's why it called a Solo.

And of course you can watch a previously recorded program while recording something else.
