vip222k stuck on starting up screen

ok guys, my friend got a vip222k and activated it before he installed the dish, so i took it home andhave it download the updates etc about 5-6 days ago(then i had it unplugged for all that time also), now the dish is up the receiver tried downloading the updates and just reset it self now his receiver is stuck on the starting up screen, we disconnected it for mins and was still stuck on this screen, left it plugged on the entire night and the same. . .

any help?

I am having the same problem. Every morning for about 2 weeks now when I turn on the receiver it is on the red Dishnetwork "starting up" screen. I have to reset the receiver to get it off this screen. Yesterday it would not boot up at all. I messed with it for about an hour and gave up. Today it did boot after a reset. Yesterday I did a "power button and down button" reset and it re-downloaded the software but that did not help. It has software L397. Is this new?

its the very first screen you see which says at bottom right " Starting up..."


came home today and plugged it in after having it disconnected from power for the entire day and *BAM* starts doing it business. . .its working. . .
