We have a VIP622 with HDTV (#1} in living room and older non HDTV in bedroom (#2). Is it possible via splitter to clone #1 into non HDTV in kitchen? If so, please tell me where to put the splitter when hooking it up to the VIP622. Also, what kind of splitter do I use and what kind of cable? I already have a hole in the wall between living room and kitchen for the cable.

I was able to do this before we got HD, but can't remember how!! This time I will make a diagram. Thanks...

dual mode

Leave the receiver in dual mode. Put a splitter on the tv2 output. Send one to bedroom and one to kitchen. Set the tv1 modulator to a channel other than the tv2 output. To watch tv1 output set kitchen tv to channel set for tv1 modulation, To watch tv2 output set kitchen tv to channel set for tv2 modulation. I have my second tv set for channel 73 and 75. That way I can watch either output on tv 2.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have the exact same set-up, only I now have a new HDTV in the bedroom that I have SD running to from the TV2 output. I know to get HD on this TV I'd have to get another receiver put in the bedroom. If I were to get another 622 can it be linked with my old 622 so I can watch DVR'ed programs that were recorded on the old 622? I figure this can't be done. Also, does E* let you lease a 622 for a small monthly price or would I have to outright buy a 622?

Thanks, sorry again to hijack.

Sign into your account and click on OFFERS. You may be able to get the 612 HD DVR for $75.00 installed. You can use it just to control the new HDTV you have in your bedroom.

Thanks, Mary. I just got off the phone with E* and they want $150 upgrade and a new 2 year commitment, but I'm not willing to sign a new contract since I'm currently out of contract and waiting to see when the 922 comes out.

Ah, mine was $75 with a new commitment based on that offer page. When I called, they said they'd give it to me for free with a new commitment and I said no thanks. The 922s look kewl but I just don't think I need those features. You could try calling and getting another CSR or ask for a retention specialist.

Called back again and they are offering me a free upgrade + install if I sign a new 24-month commit..plus they are throwing in free hbo/starz and taking $10/month for a year. Not sure whether to pull the trigger b/c I am leary about signing a new 24-month commit. As a side question, does anyone know if I do upgrade to a 612 for example, will I be able to upgrade my 622 to a 922 when it comes out? I noticed on the Dishn'it up page they said you can only upgrade once per year. Thanks.

Chris

On TV 1 all the outputs are hot.

On TV 1 all the outputs are hot. Run a second line off the s-video.
