Hi, I was wondering, if i am recording a show on an HD channel, and its recording on TV2, is it actually recording in HD, or is it recording in downconverted 480, so when I go to watch it later, and Im watching it dvred on TV1 am I actually seeing it in HD, or am it watching it in some converted format?

Just for reference, as Dish cannot convert and store in any format but the incoming data stream, what you record is what is coming in. Thus Dish was not able to store analog signals, RF or RCA. IIRC it relates to TiVo patents about digitizing the signal and storing. So theoretically, they might be able to do a digital conversion and store that and not violate but it would take a lot of fast electronics.
