VLC on iPad

Relaxing restrictions pays off in iProduct land. First, Google Voice, now - VLC player.

I like VLC.
While almost never the best player, its universality makes it a swiss army knife type of app nobody should be without...

And now iPad users can join the party!
This makes the iPad twice as useful in my books. Or half as useless...

Definitely a good addition to the iPad, now only if the iPad had a USB port, or at least an SD slot. Would make a media player like VLC SO much more useful.

I can't get VLC to play WMV files, also has trouble with MKV and ISO files. Does play some .ts files I have but they studder like crazy.

The USB port and SD card adapters are sold as a Camera kit for $29. There are some compatibility issues but it basically works in typical Apple iPAD fashion.

The funny thing is, it will recognize AVI files.

Movist is a new (to me anyway) player that works on PPC and Intel it seems to be fine and is available on macupdate. ron
