coverage or very little. All they are providing is coverage provided
to them via Bravo, etc. We are getting the HD feed OTA from KING as I
previously posted. According to the VOOM CSRs they know nothing about
321, 593 & 594 at all since they didn't show up in their program
listings on their own website. Of course, last night all three showed
Olympic feeds on the PG but would not allow us to access them. So, I
give up.

Did watch the opening ceremonies in HD on KING starting at 9 PM. Very
impressive with good commentary unlike that on their SD feed on
Comcast at least according to the TV critic in today's The Seattle
Times. Nowhere was three a mention of the HD feed. A big section in
the paper earlier in the week about the games failed to mention that
their would be an HD feed on KING although it was briefly mentioned a
couple of days later. Hey, guys and gals, those of watching HDTV make
up a miniscule portion of the TV viewing public.

Almost all was well during the almost 4 hour broadcast. However, Sony
ran the same ad over and over and over--well, you get the idea. And
they filled in with beautiful but repeating scenes of Greece. The
biggest problem occurred at the end of the 3rd hour (and the ending of
the SD broadcast) when we went back and forth between our local
newscast and the HD programming. I called the "Breaking News"
hotline, told them about the breaking news of not getting the HD feed.
Voila, the HD feed came back on and we watched the remainder of the
opening ceremonies.

Got to watch the whole ceremony (except for the KING 5 blips) which
was 20 min. longer than the SD feed according to the TV critic. She
just said that 20 min. got lopped off the SD. Likely due to needed
advertising. The Sony ads were maybe 30 sec. long and dropped in
unexpectedly--sometimes often and sometimes not.

Bottom line--very impressive ceremony.

However, today we're watching the Olmpics in real time on CBUT out of
Vancouver, British Columbia via Comcast. Since we don't subscribe to
Comcast digital I don't know how they are covering the NBC HD feed but
suspect it is the same as OTA KING.

Hey, just got a letter this very minute from VOOM about "NBC Summer
Olympics Programming Change". Just states what we already know about
the OTA NBC HD channel programming change and apologizing to those who
can't get SD NBC and are missing out on regular NBC programming.

Still trying to figure out why VOOM CSRs (at least the two I talked to
in their Texas office) don't have a clue about 321, etc. but enjoying
the Olympics anyway under mostly cloudy Seattle skies, Gill
