[VOOM] Apologies to the rest of ya

This yahoo group will not be shutdown, even after voom goes off-air.
The group messages are normally moderated to prevent exactly what
happened since yesterday afternoon but I opened it up yesterday
knowing I was not going to be around due to health reasons. I am going
to the doctor today to see what's wrong and no messages will be posted
during that time.

This forum will not be used for flaming and it will not be shutdown.
In regards to the idiot who started the flaming messages yesterday,
you will never see another post by him on here again and I apologize
to everyone else for him being a loser. In regards to one who is
referred by "pulling out", it just shows that drinking vast amounts of
alcohol kills so many brain cells, what you would normally never be
caught dead with on the side of the road confuses your brain making
you think you're looking at Cindy Crawford. Birth Control was invented
after alcohol. Now we know why.

Thank you Robert as well. We know the VOOM mistakes and all of us have lived this rollercoaster for to long. We will get on with it but, in the process, we meet some very nice people who share some of the same interest. Glad to see the Yahoo Group will keep on. We all have to transition and it is helpful to see who is doing what and for what reason.

[VOOM] Re: Apologies to the rest of ya

Darn it, Robert, I stay off the forum for a day and miss all the "fun".

Hope the doc found the problem with ya and ya get all fixed up.
(Geez, sorry for the language but watching to much Deadwood, I guess.)

Still watching HDTV under mostly cloudy Seattle skies, Gill

RE: [VOOM] Re: Apologies to the rest of ya

My cardiologist says no major issues at first glance but more tests are
needed to figure out what's causing the symptoms. So next week they're gonna
shoot radioactive material into my blood! It's called a nuclear stress test.
Sounds lovely, doesn't it? I'm relieved the initial echocardio gram came
back without anything major but worried about what my body is telling me.
We'll see what next week brings.

Robert

Robert - I just had all those tests, plus a Holter monitor, angiogram, and sonogram. I had an irregular EKG.
Are you having any symtoms? I had none. I still ended up with a pacemaker!

[VOOM] Re: Apologies to the rest of ya

I've been having chest pains and almost passed out the other day. I
know my body and know when it's telling me there is something wrong.
Something is wrong. We just need to figure out what and go from there.
I'm not the type of person who goes to the doctor. It's been 1 1/2
years since the last time I went. Other than being overweight I
haven't had any reason to. I stay "fairly" healthy compared to others.

Me.. I'd rather relax in front my HDtv than worry about my health but
when your body tells you there's a pbm, I'm smart enough not to ignore
it :)

Re: [VOOM] Re: Apologies to the rest of ya

A nuclear stress test is where they inject a radioactive dye into your arm and you lay in a device looking very much like a cat-scan, except that the revolving piece that moves over your chest detects radioactivity. It's a big geiger counter. It's looking to see if the radioactive dye can get into your 4 heart arteries.
Your symptoms are different than mine. You most likely have a restriction in one or more of the 4 arteries that supply the heart muscle.
The next part of the NST is the treadmill, where they will connect you to like a 12 lead EKG while you run/walk. Then another session on the scanning machine.
The next "test" will be an angiogram with dye. This is where they run a camera and light up your main artery to the heart from your groin.
If blockage is found, this may turn into an angioplasty, which is where a coil like device called a stent is inserted to keep your heart artery open.
In extreme cases, you'll need a heart bypass operation - the whole enchilada.
But the stent procedure is getting real common. Most hospitals have at least one "Cath Lab" and my hospital has two and they keep them busy 24 hrs a day.

[VOOM] Re: Apologies to the rest of ya

Hey, Robert, let me know if you need to be checked for any "excess" radioactivity.
Here in our lab we have devices to check for such. And you should be very "stressed" by
the time you get to Seattle. Good luck down there.
