[VOOM] Cancelled Voom Today

Called customer service again today to find out how much adding a 2nd box for a charter member...(4th time since summer)

$499 to add a second receiver it pretty outrageous (this amount was to purchase a 2nd box, they were going to waive the $199 installation fee)...

With the upcoming price increase in Jan, not being able to get my local Fox Sports and just overall not watching as much TV as I used to, I decided to cancel (in addition to the frustration of having a new HD-Ready set that I could not get programming for).

Good luck to the rest of you guys...

[VOOM] Re: Cancelled Voom Today

Why do people feel the need to announce when they cancel?
It's like people announce it here just to stir up garbage or deter
prospective Voomers.

Just quit the list, and go sign up for one of the (more lame, more
expensive) alternatives.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Cancelled Voom Today

Gee, for a minute there, I thought this group provided a forum for people to voice their opinions and experiences, BOTH good or bad...

My email does not stir up garbage and if deters a prospective voomer so be it...

If I were a prospective customer, I would want to know both good and bad about the product before I purchased it...

Ok, you make mention of an increase in programming
costs in January.

Where can I get additional information?

[VOOM] Re: Cancelled Voom Today

I get FOX Sports just fine via OTA using my Voom receiver. You need to complain to
your local FOX affiliate, not Voom.

Price increase is a rumor. The only truth is on Nov 22, Voom announced they would
have 70 HD channels by next March.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Cancelled Voom Today

the price increase is for charter members who were paying $39.99/month. Their price goes up to the the $49 price which is what new subscribers are paying.
