VOOM Dish Pointing

Hey Guys,

I think my VOOM installer did a bad job aiming my dish since I only get a signal of 85 with a clear/unobstructed view of the sky.

Does anyone know a site where I can calculate the Look Angle for the VOOM satellite?

Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

I did a search in the FAQ forum for azimuth, and found a utility in this thread.....

The mods do a great job keeping that thread updated, and there are lots of answers in that forum. You are right about the 85. You should be about 10 points higher, especially with a clear line of sight.

If your satellite signal quality is 85, your dish is already pointed in the right direction. What you can do though is open the the "Aim Satellite Dish" screen in the Installation Wizard, open the window in your TV room, so you could hear the tone and try to move the dish a little bit. Or have some one watch the readings and use a cell-phone to communicate while you are on the roof. This is of course if you are willing to do this on your own. Otherwise, just call VOOM and have them do this for you. Good luck!
