Just noticed this FCC Web Site as to be expected Charles has official removed his opposition to the Rainbow-1 transfer/sale to EchoStar

So, what happens now if the FCC still denies the license transfer? ;)
(I know it's unlikely, but just curious...)

Well, instead, they can lease it then to E* for the same price.

I saw that coming when the CVC vote to shut VOOM down was unanimous, and CVC picked up the tab for the last few weeks of VOOM.

May 4, 2005: In light of EchoStar Communications Corporation's announcement that it will carry VOOM original HD programming on the DISH Network DBS service, the Association of Consumers to Preserve and Promote DBS Competition announces that the Joint Petition To Deny the sale of the Rainbow 1 satellite from Rainbow DBS Company LLC to EchoStar has been withdrawn.

It appears that the association really doesn't care about DBS competition. They have proved themselves shills for Voom HD LLC. (The original association, not the Sat Guy members who joined after the March 28th filing and had no say in the association's actions.)
