The VOOM box comes with a DVI cable so you can order a DVI DVD player. Either a Bravo D2 or a Sony 975. You may need a DVI switch box if you only have one DVI input, which is common. Budget another $250 for that. Believe it or not, Rat Shack has DVI and HDMI to DVI cables at a reasonable price.
That's if you have a fixed-pixel display. If not , just get a DVD player with a component video out. I'm not sure the VOOM STB comes with a component cable. My install was about 8 months ago.
Your DVD player may come with a component cable. Look it up on the internet. Many times they will tell you "what comes in the box". I think Crutchfield does.
Maybe a fellow VOOMer can tell us if the long box that comes with the STB has a component video cable as well as the DVI.

the voom rec. should come with all the cable you need comp. audio video dvi phone line . should get all of that.

Voom Receiver Cables

My two Voom receivers (installed in November) each came with a DVI cable and a component video cable. I don't think audio or single (composite) video cables were supplied with either of my new receivers.

On one of my sets, I have the Voom receiver cabled with both the component and composite video cables going to different inputs of my 4x3 format Panasonic HDTV. On some SD TV signals, the composite picture is much better to avoid the "fun house" fat people (ie, it provides a true 4x3 format picture rather than stretching people on the screen). You probably will not need the composite video cable hookup with a 16x9 format TV, but I certainly need it with my 4x3 set. My other display is 16x9 format, so no problem there.

Be certain to call your installer on Thursday afternoon to re-confirm that he is coming and that he is bringing the expected number of dishes, RG6 cabling, an OTA antenna and receivers. I hope you specified a 24 inch dish; it works much better to avoid satellite signal dropouts in bad weather. Good luck with your installation!
