Voom management, please post status of Firewire

Though I have Dish as a backup for missing Voom content, primarily for
archiving until the 5000/HD was recently shut off, I have no current
way (with a labotomized 921) to archive.

What is the status of STBs with firewire? Has a policy been
established for swapping? Will the capability be available in the
summer home networking expansion or will the DVRs be closed like DirecTV?

The answers to these questions, including upgrade policies, I was told
was "imminent" at CES 5 weeks ago. Can we get some news?
Straightforward answers, even if not good news, gains more
credibility/customer loyalty than no news or hand waiving.

The advent of firewire competing cable boxes (nor just Cablevision) is upon us.

With Comcast NE coming with firewire boxes, I would have assumed Voom would want to enlighten all of us. Discussion in Nov was replacement boxes would have it.
