[VOOM] Resolution to 7.26 software problems - Wilt?

Wilt, (or anyone else that might be able to shed some light)

What is the time-frame or resolution to the problems in current
software load? As several people have mentioned, the caller ID
feature worked for about a day, and although it's convenient and a
wonderful feature, it's not as important as the lockups that are
also occurring. Even though the recovery is easy (remove power for
ten seconds and let the system reboot, power off and on again) it is
a pain. All I'm asking is some acknowledgement that a fix is in the
works.

Thanks,

Lp

The lockups and the reboot cause you to lose your guide info too. Seems
like it takes all the way to the 2AM time slot to get that info back in the
unit. Is there any way to force a quicker guide reload?

Definitely not a fix, but here's a temporary patch. The problem seemingly lies with the Caller ID Function or modem software. Several individuals in these forums have found (myself included) that if you disconnect you phone line from the stb and turn off the Called Id Function, the lockups stop.

Like I said not a fix, but it works as a temporary patch and since the Called Id Function isn't working right anyway, what's the loss. Tho' I agree Voom needs to get working on a real fix ASAP. Seems kind of a major glitch to have slipped thru testing.

I disconnected the phone line on one of my boxes, too. It was
locking up once a day. I hope this helps as a temporary fix. VOOM
needs to get out a fix for the caller ID problem ASAP.
