Out here in Seattle Comcast offers little more than our locals in HD
which we already get OTA with or w/o the VOOM STB. Direct we've seen
and were unimpressed. Dish seems to be more of the same.

We really spend most of our time watching VOOM exclusives, HBO and
Discovery. Can't see any other provider picking up more than a
handful of VOOM HD exclusives.

However, still enjoying HDTV for the time being under clear! Seattle
skies, Gill

Get Express Vu from Canada. They have about 18 HD channels and the package also includes your local Seattle stations (ABC,NBC,CBS,FOX,PBS) in HD AND Boston locals in HD for time shifting.

Hey, bryan, thanks for reminding me about Express Vu. It may be tricky getting it in the
U.S. but will look into it. Don't really need the locals though.

Still at work so not enjoying HDTV under mostly sunny Seattle skies, Gill

Re: [VOOM] Re: Sad day. Any suggestions for alternatives?

I think we should keep the forum open and up so we can all be aware of
alternative programming choices and deals for future programming providers.
also, to discuss OTA reception on our STB's, etc. We will likely need each
other after the shutdown.
