[VOOM] SiFi Channel

Since day one of the SiFi channel I have been having problems
with tunning it in. Very often I have to go a channel above it
or a channel below it, sometimes many times, to get a channel
lock on it.

Also the picture looks like a 16:9 inside of a 4:3 box (small).

Is it my setup and equipment or is it Voom ?

Bill

Something funky going on with Sci-Fi. you are right. When I just tuned to
it the VOOMbox locked up with no picture at all and I almost thought I'd
have to do a soft reboot. I hit100 and went to HDNews and then I hit "back"
and it was fine with the picture immediately locking in. I would report it
to VOOM and I've copied Wilt.

Is the SciFi one of the one's polarized differently like ESPN HD and ESPN
News, and Starz I think? I had lots of problems with ESPN HD and ESPN News
when I was first installed due to their different polarity. The STB has to
send a signal to the LNB to change polarity to receive those channels.

Voom sent an installer back out and they replaced the LNB and I've been
good ever since.

Sean,
The LNBF wasn't switching polarity at all or not working intermittently?

Mine was intermittent. At times it worked fine, at other times, I'd have
to flip channels back and forth 3, 5, 10 (or more!) times to get those
stations to come in... Since I got the new LNB I've never even had to flip
once.
