This is the response I received from VOOM when asked what will happen
to their programming:

Thank you for choosing VOOM - HDTV Delivered!

VOOM is operating normally and is continuing with plans to expand its
programming lineup and enhance your service. We appreciate your
concern. The recently announced Echostar deal has yet to be
concluded, including the details of any transition plan. In the
meantime, VOOM will continue to provide uninterrupted service to all
of our customers. We would like to thank you for your loyal support
and will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes
available

Thank you for choosing VOOM - the leader in High Definition
programming!

I am now wondering how they plan to keep me informed as they made no
mention of the sale on their web site nor through mail, snail or e-
mail!

They aren't sold yet! Of course they will continue to operate as normal! IT AIN'T DONE TILL IT IS DONE!!!

Echostar and Cablevision entered into an agreement - THAT IS IT!

It is like buying a house. You complete a purchase/sale agreement and present it to the seller. The seller then accepts it...but wait...IT AIN'T SOLD YET!

You placed a host of contingencies...LIKE....an inspection! Or better yet...the Ability to obtain financing. If the buyer doesn't like what is found during an inspection or can't obtain financing, the deal just doesn't happen!

I just don't get why everyone thinks it will end tomorrow!

Am I the only one that gets how business works?????

Sigh...

Voom has a perfect way to keep it's loyal customers informed. Its
called HD News. Channel 100. I hope that we don't hear this "more
information" on fox or msnbc. Why haven't we heard a peep on this
channel? Whether they stay or go.....i wanna see it on HDTV!

[VOOM] Re: VOOM Customer Service Response

rych875, while I agree with the previous poster that I hope we find out about the future of
VOOM through HDNews or at least a letter/email, I believe the reason VOOM didn't show
the ball drop on New Years Eve was contractual. I'm willing to bet today's lunch they didn't
have permission to transmit this part of the evening's festivities.

Of course, at CES they did show one of their new DVRs and had a huge display of VOOM
channels up to the ceiling but then you no doubt knew that. I'm not sure of the point of
your post.

At this point still watching HDTV under cloudy Seattle skies, Gill
