I have been a voom subscriber for about 7 or 8 months. the satellite service is great, no
complaints there. the problem i continue to have is with the OTA channels.

a prime example: tonight i turn on the TV to watch monday night football, and it says that
it is not getting a signal. so i go up to the roof, which is a rare option for most in the city,
and i move around the antanae, but still nothing. i should add that i can see the empire
state building, where the signal supposedly originates, so there shouldn't be any problems
there.

this kills me. you expect your tv to work when you turn it on, as a medium it has
evolved to that point. tomorrow it will probably work. but not tonight. the weather is
cold and crystal clear tonight too.

Also on the OTA front, PBS has never come in. so, no ABC tonight and no PBS ever. all for
$90 a month.

At the beginning I called voom when there was a problem like this and they were good
about sending someone, but nothing ever got any better.

Not sure what to do and will probably do nothing for now. just vent my frustration and
hope either voom gets its act together or the marketplace presents another HD alternative.

anyone know who's winning the game?

Colts are winning. You may have multipath issues. Winegard makes an antenna called the Square Shooter which is relatively small and could help. Check it out. Have you tried a rabbit ears antenna? Slowly rotate it while you look for the signal. Have you been to the installation wizard on the VOOM receiver?

arrow,

OTA in Manhattan is a miss or hit. Your location is the problem. Forget about PBS. It does not transmit fro the ESB. And yes most people do have problems with OTA in Manhattan as there are so many buildings and the signal bounces quite a lot over there. Also the ABC does not transmit from ESB either. It transmit from a lower builiding and this is why your signal is bouncing and inconsistent. When the combiner is finally done, both ABC and PBS will be transmitting from the ESB. I am sure you don't have problems with CBS, WB, Fox and UPN, correct? Because all of them transmit from the ESB.
