[VOOM] Voom News

Installed Voom 3/14 after 8 years of Dish. Called dish to unplug and
they told me Voom was done the end of March and the employees were
lookingb for jobs. Have see CEO is trying to save Voom. Any new
news??

you think Dish is going to tell you that they have doubled their subscriber base in 4 months and that Dolan is working hard to make it profitable? Come on, think!
 
What I find annoying is the lengths the Dish CSRs seem to go to to trash
Voom. What do they say about DirecTV? Do the DirecTV people talk smack also?


How about just selling the service based on it's merits? The fact that they
are looking over their shoulder as much as they are says something.

Yeah, they gave me flack when I switched off of DirecTV. They said Voom
didn't have as many channels. I should have said, "Yeah, channels of
crap" ;)

well believe it or not but my sister works for D* at the new call center in Huntsville AL.
I ask her, just the other day, if she had heard anything about Voom......her reply...."what is Voom". Told her it was a satellite service, again she says. "never heard of it". So with that I figure D* doesn't instruct there CSR's about Voom and aren't worried about them as a provider.

I got a real kick out of a telemarketing call the other day when
Sprint called trying to sell Dish on the same bill as my phonebill.
When I told her I didn't need Dish as a satellite provider, she asked
who I had.

I said "voom."

She said "zoom?"

"No, Voom."

"Oh, well can I tell you all about Dish..."

I said "can dish offer me 40 HD channels" and she said "no, 4."

She had no idea what Voom was or what they offered. I didn't tell her
that E* had just bought V*'s main bird and that the future of V* was
uncertain -- I thought that would just confuse her more.

I feel sorry for the people asked to call and try to sell me a product
that are given no information on the competitors...

Directv CSR company line

The Directv people consistently told me that Voom would not exist by the end of March (I hope they are wrong). They offered me a reduction of $20 per month off of my Total Choice Premium package and $250 dollar credit on their extremely expensive HD DVR. It was tempting, but I am glad that after first excepting their offer, I cancelled Directv and have been Vooming and loving Voom since March 13th.
