as a former direct tv customer I feel qualified to say that voom
sux.Im on my second IRD and still it locks up once a day, audio drops
off on channels while surfing, rain fade is rediculous. So they have
the most HD marerial, so what, most of it is garbage and it is quite
repetatve. Worldsport shows mainly spanish league soccer which is not
all bad but its mostly reruns and the info doesnt even give you the
actual game date. Im gonna stick with it a while longer but my
patience is growing thin, maybe when all service providers go HD I
will go back to DTV. oh yea and the techs are all clowns, arent they
supposed to be certified. The tech that installed the dish couldnt get
a pic on my tv, he was here 8 hrs. I come home from work and 30 min
later im watching TV. He didnt know about the little red button that
changes resalution, it was at 720 my set doesnt display 720. The
second clown came out to install an OTA upgrade. Before he arrived i
had a signal power of 20 OTA. When he left i hada zero! He said it
should be ok after the reciever downloads programming info. Yea right.
I fixed that problem myself too. It was a crossed wire on the
splitter. I now have a signal of 35-70. Be nice if Voom ironed out all
the bugs before they launched their servise.
