Wall Street is reporting that DISH and T-mobile in Merger talks

I Wonder if they could have the signals come from the cell towers to your receiver so when it rains, then it won't even matter.
I'm guessing not, as that would take to much away from what Dish wants to do with its spectrum, but I could see them authorizing SlingTV or unlimited streaming of Dish Anywhere on TMobile service.

It wouldn't surprise me for Dish to offer a LTE based broadband service like Verizon's LTE Installed (formerly HomeFusion) and AT&T's Wireless Home Phone and Internet. Probably will have some sort of bundle, and perhaps Dish on Demand streaming/downloads might not count toward used data.

Deal between T-Mobile and Dish could spell trouble for Sprint https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/deal-between-t-mobile-dish-could-spell-trouble-232751757--finance.html
A merger of T-Mobile US Inc and satellite TV company Dish Network Corp could force Sprint Corp to pursue a deal or partnership itself.T-Mobile and Dish are in early-stage merger talks, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.Dish's trove of wireless airwaves, or spectrum, would turn No. 4 U.S. wireless company T-Mobile into a much stronger competitor to Sprint, the current No. 3. It also comes as bigger rivals AT&T and Verizon have been investing in strengthening their networks and looking to extract revenue from online video content in addition to wireless services."If Dish buys T-Mobile they'll become a lot stronger, their spectrum portfolio will double and they will have a real competitive edge against the rest of the industry," New Street Research analyst Spencer Kurn said.Sprint is in the midst of a turnaround plan to stanch subscriber losses and improve its balance sheet. The company, which is sitting on excess spectrum of its own, has been burning cash to sign up subscribers and upgrade its wireless network.

Worries Mount That Ergen's Ego Might Derail T-Mobile Deal

Not surprised here the guy seems to have one.. :)
That's what I have been afraid of all along, is Charlie's Ego getting in the way of a successful deal . But like I've said before and the article references also, this deal is essential for BOTH companies to flourish in the long run. Without a merger DISH's options look bleaker.

Charlie is a narcissist and probably an @$$hole, he seems to come off that way. That being said, he evidently is an excellent businessman or has brilliant people around him to provide advice. He didn't become a billionaire with zero skill.

the government’s new net neutrality rules, unloaded last month, may prevent internet providers from barring such a setup!

Dish is asking the FCC to set a new buildout deadline on its 700 MHz spectrum that would require the company to cover 40 percent of the population covered by its licenses by 2017 and 70 percent by 2021.

Here’s to an industry-rockin’ 2015
And, this coming year, we’ll cover 300 million people with our blazing-fast LTE network – not to mention we plan on covering more than 150 markets with Wideband LTE and deploying 700 MHz spectrum in approximately 350 markets. So, what are they going to do when we reach everyone they reach with a faster network? Yeah, this is real, Verizon.

“We are thinking about how WiFi and cell networks work together and how to make that seamless,”

I can imagine how these negotiations will go. DT which is desperate to unload T-Mobile and Dish, which needs to find someway to use their spectrum before they lose it. :coco

I can only wonder if DISH is leaking the T Mobile News in order to pressure Sprint into playing ball with them. It is my understanding they have been talking with and working with Sprint, but the movement has been slow. Could this be Charlies ploy to speed up Sprint into playing ball?

But mostly I wish that they had a stronger signal at my work site. I can barely get a phone call in or out unless I am outside .
I dropped T-Mo over a year ago for just that reason. Plus, there are plenty of dead zones on my way to the in-laws. I won't be going back to them.

Yeah I think Sprint would be a better partner but we will just have to wait and see how it turns out if it happens at all..

and for me T-Mobile has the best coverage at home , work and the various spots I travel to where I live. With Sprint I had to have a microcell at home and as soon as I walked away from house coverage was mediocre. Speeds absolutely sucked. Verizon got OK coverage at home, at work at near zero coverage. I refuse to try the Death Star.

Dish/T-Mobile: An easier path, but should Verizon get involved?
Jun 5 2015, 17:39 ET | By: Jason Aycock, SA News Editor

The current wisdom holds that Dish Network (NASDAQ:DISH) and T-Mobile's (NYSE:TMUS) combination bid might have a relatively easy time with regulators, and it shouldn't face debt problems either, says one analyst.
“Dish bond covenants are very loose,” says Covenant Review analyst Scott Josefsberg, and the satellite provider would have “wide latitude to structure a transaction." Meanwhile, T-Mobile covenants allow for the firm to issue at least $10B more in debt. Dish Network has an enterprise value of $45.8B; T-Mobile's is $52.9B.
Meanwhile, Citigroup's Michael Rollins says the other option is clear for spectrum-rich Dish: Sell itself to Verizon (NYSE:VZ).
He thinks that's the likely outcome for a number of reasons, including the need for Verizon to keep up with AT&T/DirecTV, the spectrum shortage that Verizon currently faces heading into next year's incentive auction, and the chance for Dish to make a shift to IP video to "dramatically" increase magnitude and duration of video cash flows.
He has Dish and T-Mobile rated at Buy and raised T-Mobile's price target to $46, while maintaining Dish's target at $94. Today: DISH +1.7% to $75.51; TMUS +2.3% to $40.24; VZ -1.8% to $47.25.

Death Star was my only real option for coverage. But I'm not paying them directly, I'm paying much lower prices with Consumer Cellular.
