The hopper looks awesome, but we are a one TV household and plan to stay that way for years to come. Is it still possible to get a 922? I'm really just looking for additional recording space and the ability to watch programs remotely on my phone or laptop. Do I have to get into the hopper jazz? Any chance a no cost 922 upgrade is something feasible in this climate?

Thanks for any advice,
Bob

Single 922 or single Hopper $10 per month. Its when you start adding additional that fees would be different.

Hi, I would be happy to look into a ViP922 upgrade for you. Can you please PM me your full name, account or phone number, and the 4 digit security code on the account? The ViP922 Slingloaded HD DVR does have a $10.00 a month DVR fee as opposed to the $6.00 DVR fee that the other DVR receivers have. The Hopper does have a $4.00 Whole Home DVR Enhancement fee added monthly as well. Just let me know!

Do they allow you to lease 1H/0J? I've heard you have to have at least 1 Joey per Hopper, but I've also heard that you can just order the Joey then when the installer comes you can tell him to take it back with him.

Even if I were required to pay the extra $7 for the Joey, I'd still prefer it over the 922 any day of the week.

There is an upgrade option available that will allow for the one Hopper solution. We do not recommend this as you will be charged the $4.00 Whole Home DVR Enhancement fee even though you only have the one receiver, working one TV. 2 Hoppers does require at least 2 Joey, there is no solution for a 2 Hopper and 1 Joey set-up. There have been customer how have been able to get this set-up but it is not guaranteed that the tech will agree to not install the second Joey.

Dish installer electrocuted -- wow!
