Around 8:45Pm last night (2/11) At least 2 of my HD Local Channels went out for a few minutes. A slate was put up with Dishnetwork is aware of this issue your channel will be back shortly or something to that effect. Anyone else experience this and/or know what they did? I'm not seeing any changes to Washington DC locals on the uplink report.

The uplink center for the washington DC locals is about an hour west of DC, in a place called Mt. Jackson, which is a little south of where I66 and I-81 meet. Last night a powerful line of storms came through, and I believe 8:45 would have been about the time they came through that area.

So, most likely it was a weather related uplink outage.

Yeah, it was a pretty rough line of storms. We lost power from about 10pm until after midnight. Luckily my Dish HD box has OTA and I was able to watch TV.

The way we put that fiber up 10-12 years ago in that area, and judging from the power company I work for now that feeds the uplink center, it is no wonder it went out! If the circuit that feeds that place was interrupted, my guess is what we saw was a minor glitch when their generator fired up.
