My Week 8 Picks
Winners in bold

San Diego vs. New Orleans (at London)...both teams have run problems but SD defense is better.

Oakland at Baltimore...tough call, Raiders played much smarter against Jets but still had to go to OT to win at home.

Buffalo at Miami...the "Wildcat Formation" has been figured out.

Kansas City at NY Jets...Jets will win, but Farve showing real signs of fatigue.

Tampa Bay at Dallas...Bucs D will seal the deal against immobile QB Brad Johnson.

Washington at Detroit...Lions look like a team that's quit on itself.

St. Louis at New England...Pats have been Jekyll and Hyde, coming off a MNF game banged up.

Atlanta at Philadelphia...Eagles need to make a stand to stay in NFC race.

Arizona at Carolina...The Bogus Bowl, two teams that likely will make playoffs but have no chance to win in playoffs. Cards yet to show they can win outside Arizona.

Cincinnati at Houston...No Palmer for Bengals, No Win either.

Cleveland at Jacksonville...Which Browns do we get this week.

Seattle at San Francisco...Seattle's year of misery continues.

NY Giants at Pittsburgh...Ben over Eli in a hard-nosed defensive battle.

Indianapolis at Tennesse...Colts know that the season is on the line against Titans, key will be early scoring.

Wussy! Stand by your team!

After an amazing 2 week run....approx.. 22-6. This week, we stunk up the joint at 6-6 WITHOUT tonight's game. YUCK!:(

Hey got to hand it to the patriots they had an absolutely flawless game. You can tell as much since they had 0 penalties assessed against them.

Must be nice to be perfect

Don't go by penalties....My Raiders had only 2 all day yesterday. But they could not have come at a worse time. KILLED 2 possible drives when they had cut the lead to 12 and moment had somewhat changed....going from 3rd and 5 to 3rd and 15 changes EVERYTHING!

If they show the game on replay this week watch it. Seymore gets away 2 times with picking Bulger up and throwing him to the ground After he has already thrown the ball.

And Fakir gets slammed to the ground 15 yards out of bounds.

thats My issue with it.

From the St louis Post Dispatch

The officiating was a disgrace, and an embarrassment to the NFL. Nine penalties on the Rams? And NONE called on the Patriots? (Well, they did call a couple of penalties which were declined by the Rams, but that’s not the point). The Rams had to go into New England and not only beat the Patriots and handle the home crowd, but also had to overcome the grossly incompetent officiating. The refs ignored a blatant late hit out of bounds against Fakhir Brown when he made his INT. Head referee Scott Green ignored an obvious roughing-the-passer episode that happened several feet from him, and while he was staring at the play. Green also threw a flag on the Patriots for hitting Bulger in the facemask, then picked up the flag and waved off the penalty. They missed other stuff, too, including some flagrant holding calls. The lazy, gutless display by this crew only reinforced the impression that the Patriots get special treatment. The Patriots came into the game having been flagged only 16 times in the first 6 games, the second-fewest total in the league. Patriots coach Bill Belichick is very good at intimidating officials, and it apparently worked again for him on Sunday. I had to laugh late in the game when the TV camera zoomed in on Belichick as he screamed at the officials. What was Coach Hoodie possibly upset about? Did one of the officials fail to properly shine Belichick’s car? Did Scott Green forget to pick up the coach’s dry cleaning? Did one of the refs make a mistake and deliver the wrong kind of pizza to Bill’s house on Saturday night? LOL. No surprise. I don’t even know why I get worked up. The way NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell handled “Spygate” and made it disappear told us all we needed to know.

I think the officiating in the NFL has been SO-SO AT BEST. I have seen some obvious bad calls never made or "seen". With the league office, if I am not mistaken, apologize on a couple of occassions. BUT, GOD FORBID that a player say something or a coach....The league will IMMEDIATELY censor you with a fine AND a possible suspension.

So sad that newspapers hire moron writers, no wonder their circulation sucks.

I see you and the writer fail to mention the 2 blatent offensive pass interferences comitted by Avery that lead to 10 points, guess that doesn't fit with the Belichick/NFL conspiracy theroies. BTW, Godell is a Jet fan and Patriot hater.

Hardly, more like a East coast team fan. Seems anything they do is just fine:p

I just watched my recording. Would you tell me at what times Avery had 2 pass interferences? I can go directly to the time frame and look. Maybe your right, but I doubt it.

Heres his highlight video.

also, come on now, How can a team play with 0 yards penalties. You should watch the scene toward the end where bilicheat starts mouthing off to the refs. Watch it close. It looks like he says "What am I paying you for".

9-5 week.

Want to see corruption of ref's at it's finest. Watch this week's Inside the NFL

I watched this week's Inside the NFL.

The league had Wes Welker wear a microphone. During the recap of the game, there's a clip where he's talking to a ref in between plays. The ref's number is 36 HL. I never want to see this dude on the field again when the Rams play.

He's basically recapping a play to Welker, HAS HIS HAND ON WELKER'S HIP and says, and I quote exactly, "God bless you man. I love watching you play." Welker responds, "Thanks, man, I appreciate it."

This proves to me what I've suspected all along. This referee love for the Pats is beyond belief and now is on record for all the see. This comment in a game that had ZERO PENALTIES AGAINST THE PATRIOTS should embarrass the NFL.
