Well it ran into a snap.
only the remap channeld works.
HBO
Sho
ESPN
ESPN2
TNT
Universal
HD Theater

Went Dark.

They are off

Odd, 206, 209, 245, 281, and 259 are blank. Nothing coming on. Thats the channels the MPEG 4 espn, ect will be on.

However, hd net and hd net movies work fine on 306 and 552.

Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, I am having this issue too. Couldn't sleep so I tuned into espn to see if I could notice the difference but was greeted with a blank screen (206). Tried 209, 245, same thing. Hope they get it fixed.

Now everything is on except espn/espn2 they arent even listed in my guide

DrecTV has started converting its remaining MPEG2 HD channels to MPEG4 and appear to be using the new Echostar 11 satellite to make this happen. However a few SatelliteGuys members are reporting issues including black screens on the new MPEG4 channels.
D* is using Echostar 11?

i'm sure the screens went black while the switch was flipped or whatever terminology you want to use for changing the format. the picture came back like 15 minutes later or so after the mpeg4 conversion.

i figured something physical would happen just wasn't sure if it meant the units would reboot or the dark screen. you guys didn't actually think the pic would go from mpeg2 to mpeg4 without batting an eyelash, did you?

No, however I didnt expect it to be dark for so long at the time that it was. I honestly figured they would have set it up to happen much earlier than that. No big deal though. Looks good to me:up

Why not HDNET and HDNet Movies did.

The new conversions were off for a few minutes

HD Net and HD Net Movies worked from the get go. But they were put on brand new channel numbers. All of the other channels had problems but on all of those they were using a pre-existing channel. I guess they had problems flipping channels like 206 from MPEG2 to MPEG4.

It's strange to flip between ESPN HD in the 70's, and the one on 206.

Definitely can tell the difference.

I get a 94% signal level on the MPEG-2 version, and a 47% on the MPEG-4, off of the new satellite.

As I said in the other thread, luckily I have an appt. for this morning to get the dish re-pointed.
