i get these channels in the 9800's. are they testing for HD locals.
temp home of NBC in Grand Rapids 9826
temp home of CBS in Grand Rapids 9825
 
No. It's a test for people who only have a dish 300 pointing at 119 and not a dish 500
 
some markets that are on 119 spotbeams right now they are moving to 110 (Echo 10). There are some people still with a Dish 300 so they are convincing them to move to a D500 :)
 
It's an early warning system so they will (hopefully) reduce the number of calls from people wondering why they are no longer able to receive their local channels.

at least one of their local channels will be turned off at the regular location with a scroll stating to call Dish. Customer calls, and are scheduled thru Dish to get Dish500 and are redirected to the "temp" channel until the dish is put in.
