I currently have aDish 500 antena( DP-Twin-2 ) and two 301 receivers.
I'm not sure about the difference between LNBs and Switches or where they fit in the path from dish to receiver/tv so please explain.

My house is prewired with four RG6 coax from the dish location on the second story facia board into the house. Two go to the upstairs TV location and two go to the downstairs TV location.

I am getting a DVR625 to replace the 301 downstairs. I want to be ready for any furure equipment upgrades.

What kind of LNB and/or switch do I need to;
At minimun; feed two dual tuner DVRs downstairs( one on each coax ) and one dual tuner DVR upstairs( on one coax )

Ideally; feed four dual tuner DVRs. One from each of my four coax lines.

Please remeber I'm a dummy at this and don't mind admitting it. :confused:
Thanks. I just don't want to be a complete idiot when the installer( local guy ) comes out next week.

You have one of the most common setups. This means that there is a multitude of equipment that will do the immediate job - which is two receivers, 3 tuners:
  • DPP-Twin
  • DP34
  • DP Quad
  • DPP44
Only the last one is expandable to your 3 dual-tuner on 3 cable scenario.
