What happens if Dish takes over Voom's asset

My concern is that I have limited line of sight to the SW. I can only receive partial HD coverage from Direct TV or Dish. I can not recieve the 119 satelite signal.

Will I get completely screwed in the process, and not have any HD programming except local channels?

Same boat here... 119 is out for me. We will get screwed it looks more and more like voom is nearing the end... i guess i'll go back to dtv if and when it does.

Depending on how bad your line of sight is, the installer can use an S-pipe to get the dish around a corner or obstruction. But coming from a retailer who sends techs out to fix other companies botched installs, you need to do a couple of things.

First find out how long the install company has been in business and how many customers they have. This information is your right as a consumer to know. This information will give you an idea of the reputation. If they don't want to tell you......move to the next one.

Second is to have them do a sight survey before commiting to ANYTHING!!!! Some companies do not charge for this and some do, but either way you will know ahead of time what can and can't be done

Third is to try and get approval from an apartment complex/manager to mount the dish on a roof or AC unit. Also keep in mind that, if you own a home and are part of an HOA, the FCC has ruled it to be illegal for any HOA to keep you from receiving television broadcasts regardles if it is an OTA ant or a satellite dish.
