What happens when digital is mandatory next year?

My wife asked me this question - when the switch over to digital tv happens next year, how will that effect the FTA scene? Will my new receiver be obsolete? Thanks in advance!

That mandate is for OTA only. It has nothing to do with satellite. I dont know what kind of receiver you have but it should work fine for whatever is up there in the compatable receiver you have.

The receiver is digital! So FTA will not be effected!
