I have this offset 24" Dish Network dish I pulled out of the trash and it's missing the arm. Does anyone know how long it should be?

Thanks

i think he is refering to dish 500

the other dishes for are the 18" , superdish and 1000

the dish 500 is 22 and 1/4 inches

if it is that the above link is what u want

I think Ice is right. The focal point seems to me futher out than a 18" and the arm on the 20" dish 500 is shorter and the yoke adds the rest of the lenght.

wont work...the arm on the 24" is longer than the 20"

Dish 24" measurements

I have a so-called 24" Dish antenna.
It sports a "D" shaped arm and mounts one Dish LNB.
Across the front, from rim to rim, it measures: 24 x 26"

The length of the attached arm is: 17.5 "
If you don't have the mount, maybe this measurement is more useful...
Distance from leading (lower) edge of dish to top edge of arm-end: 14.75"
If you have to fabricate your own LNB mount, then...
Distance from center of dish to offset LNB face (center) is: 16.5"
(find center of dish by measuring 13" up/down from the rim.
It's offset feed, so these measurements may help locating your LNB...
Center of LNB to dish upper leading edge: 23.5"
Center of LNB to dish lower leading edge: 13.6"

As IceBerg mentoned, if you want to mount the "Y" adapter, ya need to shorten the arm, leaving the LNB face at the same location.

24" Dish dish

You are entirely welcome.

Those are nice dishes, but for FTA on any but the hottest birds, they're too small.
I think we had a thread discussing that question.
(I know I read one somewhere)

I've talked to a lot of Canadians wanting better reception of BEV @ 82.
It seems to work for some.
For others, they'd be better off with 30".

Let us know what you come up with.
Post a picture.
(even if it's a bird-bath) :)

A picture you shall have/

It does not give the results I thought it would. I have to try it outdoors sometime and see how it works. I picked out of the trash at a local sat dealer. It was missing the LNBF arm so I made out from a 18" dish and wood.

Can we see a picture of it from the front?
Looks like it's badly banged up and maybe no longer much of a parabola. :)

With my locating dimensions above, you should be able to put the center of the LNB at the correct place in space, relative to the top, center, and bottom of the dish.

Loved your creative grafting of the wood to the arm with packing tape!
I gotta think outside the box more. ;)
