What is the effective range on an RF remote (HR20)?

I have 3 tvs (one on each floor, upstairs, main and basement), but I only have 2 receivers. Receivers are hooked to tvs via HDMI on upstairs and main floor. I was going to run component cables out from each of the upstairs and main pvrs to the basement tv component 1&2 ins. My question is, if I get RF remotes for the basement x2 for each of the receivers, will it work between floors????

If you don't have a lot of metal in between the floors, it should work pending the distances. Good Luck
