I enjoyed watching KBS World on channel 9850 on 121. I have a Superdish.

I called the dishnetwork since it is not working. They said "it is not on 121 anymore, you need to upgrade your dish to "Dishplus" to get it.

Is this right???

:welcometo SatelliteGuys. KBS World is now on the 118.7 satellite. You can check TheList for the channels on each satellite.

Thanks.

So is that right, the Superdish can't receive the 118.7 satelite and I need to upgrade the dish???
Your version of the SuperDish receives 110/119/121. You can replace the current lnb with the 500+ lnb to receive 110/118.7/119. This has been done successfully by many SatGuys including myself. Here is one thread about converting the SuperDish. Here is another. After replacing the lnb, you would have to repeak the dish. There is also a SuperDish conversion kit for 118.7. The 500+ lnb's can be found on ebay. You may be able to convince E* to give you the upgrade for free if you get the right CSR.;)

I have two dish, one is 1000 plus which receives 110/119/121, and the other is a 500 pointed at the 61.5(?) for local HD. Recently, *E move all my HD local to 121, and since then my 500 dish just sits there collecting bird poops. Is it possible to use this 500 dish to point at the 118.7 to get this channel? My wife loves Korean movies.
Thank you.

:welcometo SatelliteGuys. The 1000+ points to 110/118.7/119/129. I believe that you are referring to the 1000.2 dish. The 1000.2 dish points to 110/119/129. The 500 dish cannot be used to receive 118.7. The 118.7 sat requires a special lnb and a larger size dish.

Thank you.

You should already get it on channel 652. KBS world does not show movies though, only TV series and news.

E is Echostar (Dishnetwork) as opposed to D (DirectTV). If you are in Boston, you should get a dish 300 or 500 pointed at 61.5. You will need the necessary switches to connect the various satellites to your receiver(s). Do you not have Boston HD locals? You can also call Dish and for a price they will install an additional satellite with switches. They will not install it for free for KBSworld, but they might for an upgraded package - e.g., adding HD, etc,
