What sat dish combo will work best for my area?

What sat dish combo will work best for my area....with an eye toward future proofing.

Charleston SC.

I need to point to 61.5 and also 110 + 119.


Also what elevation and azimuth am I looking at for these 2 orbital positions? If you can point me in the right direction to find out myself, it would be much appreciated.

Press Menu,6,1,1.

Enter your zip code, set the Dish system to 500 and satellite to 110 or 119. This gives you the info for the Dish 500.

Now change the Dish System to 300 and the Satellite to 61.5. This gives you the info for 61.5.

You don't have to mount both dishes together. They should be set where the best line of sight is for each, they can be over 150 ft. apart with no problem as long as you use the proper wiring.

I would use 61.5 not 129, when HD locals come on they will be on 61.5

For a Dish 300 at zipcode 29403 looking at 61.5 - AZ=153; EL=47; SK=NA

You should be able to get the 110/119 with a 61.5 wing for now. If you have line of sight for 61.5 you will more than likely have line of sight for the rest of eastern arc as well (72.5 & 77 would actually be a higher elevation than 61.5 from your area), so you should be fairly well future proofed.

Did I hear the Eastern Arc dish/equipment will be offerred in 2 to 3 weeks? The one dish 1000.4 and 1000.5, I might delay my install a couple of weeks and go that route.

One of these posts somewhere (don't remember which forum I saw it in) did indeed state that, but it is only for limited areas, so you might want to find that post and see if your in one of those DMAs. Also keep in mind that this is 2-3 weeks dish time which could be anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months.
