What the heck is Dish doing with FSN South?

For some reason, Dish isn't showing any of the Raycom-produced SEC basketball games on channel 420, they're putting them up in the alternates. The problem with this is that most of these games are produced in HD and Dish isn't putting them on an HD alternate. My friends with Comcast around here are getting most of the games with no problem, and I would assume that Dish uses the "Atlanta" FSN South feed since all of the Atlanta pro sports are on 420. When I had DirecTV, this wasn't an issue. What is Dish doing differently? It's driving me crazy!

Dish does the same thing for Houston. We are in the FSN- Southwest region but local games are carried on a sub channel called FSN-Houston. Directv and Cable carry FSN-Houston as a separate channel but Dish moves the individual games to a alternate channel. It's frusturating because it is difficult to hunt down the alternate channel because it varries every game. Also like you said they don't always put a HD game on a HD alternate channel.

I guess Dish does it as a way to conserve badwidth.
